how to prepare for your appointment:
-
Please bring your ID and a water bottle to your appointment.
Consider also bringing a snack and your headphones if you're not chatty or if focusing on something is helpful for you.
I am not allowed to provide a blanket, but if you are prone to chilliness, you are welcome to bring your own. If you decide to do this, please bring a clean blanket (no animal hair) washed with minimally or unscented detergent. Keep in mind that occasionally there is ink spray during an appointment and you should only bring a blanket you are okay with having some potential staining.
-
Sober!
I highly encourage you to be well rested and well hydrated for your appointment.
Eating a meal an hour or so before your appointment is also recommended!
I CANNOT tattoo you if you have a sunburn (or any type of burn) in the area we are tattooing, so please make sure you take care in the sun prior to your appointment.
I CANNOT tattoo an area that has recently been scraped, bruised, or otherwise damaged in some way.
It's appreciated if you come to your appointment having showered recently (the night before or that morning both are good times!).
Wear clean, comfortable, and loose-fitting clothes; something you wouldn’t mind getting stained with ink.
Having moisturized skin in the area of a tattoo leading up to the appointment (starting about the week before) helps give your tattoo the best possible results!
If you are specifically hairy in the zone to be tattooed, doing a pre-shave on your own is appreciated and can save us time, but no matter what I will shave you at the start of our appointment, so no worries if that is not an option for you. If shaving, please be gentle with yourself to avoid razor burn. I cannot tattoo over razor burn.
-
Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, advil or any other blood thinning medication at least 24 hours before your tattoo; acetaminophen/tylenol is okay. Antibiotic treatments must be finished at least 1 week beforehand.
I cannot tattoo someone on blood thinners or antibiotics.
If you want to pause your blood thinner before a tattoo, please make this choice with your doctor BUT I cannot tattoo you if you have taken a blood thinner within 24 hours.
If you are actively taking antibiotics, the risk of infection for your tattoo goes up, and the tattoo is much more likely to be rejected from your skin or have other issues with healing. I will not tattoo you if you have taken antibiotics in the last 7 days.
If you want me to tattoo you while you are on chemotherapy drugs, please provide a doctor's note from the last 3 months with approval from your doctor.
PLEASE RESCHEDULE IF YOU ARE NOT FEELING WELL!

Please do not apply a numbing product without previously discussing this with me. Numbing products can change the outcome of the tattoo and it's important that I know how to work with the numbing product we use. Please contact me if you are interested in a numbing product.
